Hi Phil, stumbled upon your blog when looking for tips on how to add/update locations on the weather app on my HTC Touch HD. My girlfriend lives in Newquay and I wanted to add a location that was somewhere near there. You mentioned you were able to update the database, how did you do this? Great blog by the way!
